Prayer of Consecration | |||
Grant me to stand with my dying Savior, to be content to be rejected, to be willing to take up unpopular truths, and to hold fast despised teachings until death. Help me to be determined and Christ-controlled. Never let me wander from the path of obedience to Thy will. Strengthen me for the battles ahead. Give me courage for all the trials, and grace for all the joys. Help me to be a happy, holy person, free from every wrong desire, from everything contrary to Thy mind. Grant me more and more of the resurrection life; may it rule me, may I walk in its power, and be strengthened through its influence. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen. |

Heidelberg Catechism 45, 57
45. Minister: What benefit do we receive from the “resurrection†of Christ?
A. Congregation: First, by His resurrection He has overcome death, that He might make us partakers of the righteousness which He has obtained for us by His death. Second, by His power we are also now raised up to a new life. Third, the resurrection of Christ is to us a sure pledge of our blessed resurrection.
57. Minister: What comfort do you receive from the “resurrection of the body?â€
A. Congregation: That not only my soul after this life shall be immediately taken up to Christ its Head, but also that this my body, raised by the power of Christ, shall be reunited with my soul, and made like the glorious body of Christ.
