This coming Lord’s Day, December 5 [2010], we will start a mini-series on the Scripture Songs of Christmas. I have included two from the Psalter, two from Luke’s Gospel, and one from Isaiah (which is really a poem, not a song). Three canticles (from Latin canticulum, “song”) are found in Luke, but I have previously preached on one of them last season: Mary’s Song, Magnificat.
You’re warmly invited to join us as we commemorate the birth of Jesus—the One who saves his people from sin—in song, Word and Sacrament, and prayer.
UPDATE: In 2011, our Advent series comes from Anselm’s Cur Deus Homo, “Why the God-Man?” Click here for details.
