Worship With Us and the Genevans!

Who are the Genevans? Genevans is the student choir of Geneva College near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They will be on a Spring 2014 Tour, which includes several places in the Philippines and in Malaysia. Geneva College was founded in 1848 by the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America (RPCNA).

RPCNA is a denomination who believes that “God’s Word clearly sets forth how He is to be worshiped.” Their commitment to God’s Word in worship also flows out to their worship music: “Our musical praise employs God’s Word only… the divinely inspired Book of Psalms of the Bible. In keeping with the New Testament Church’s directive for heart worship, we sing without the aid of musical instruments.” (emphasis added)

Since Pasig Covenant Reformed Church share this commitment to God’s Word and singing Psalms in worship, we have persuaded them to insert us in their busy schedule. On MAY 26, MONDAY at 6:30-8:00 PM, they will sing a few songs from their varied repertoire before and after an abbreviated worship service. During the service, the choir will sit among the congregation and join us in singing three Psalms plus a doxology a capella.

SO JOIN US AS WE LISTEN TO GOD’S WORD PREACHED, AND SING “PSALMS FOR THE KING”! It may even surprise you that a singing the Psalms a capella is, after all, as beautiful as reading the Psalms:

Praise the LORD!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
for it is beautiful, and a song of praise is fitting. (Psalm 147:1)

There is no admission charge, obviously, since this is a worship service, and not merely a concert.
